Pink Peonies

First published on June 25, 2011

Pink peonies are the ultimate girly flower... the unapologetic color, the layers of frills, the heady scent.  Love 'em!

Lilacs

Beautiful lilacs growing in a friend's garden... I had taken many close up shots of the flowers... then came inside and saw the flowers through the window.

Hyacinth's

Hyacinth's are top heavy... as soon as they come into full bloom, over they tip.  Place them in a trifle bowl... the glass sides hold them up and you can enjoy their blooms a while longer.

Royal Wedding Fever

First published on April 28, 2011

Being young and impressionable when Princess Diana was married has left it's mark!  I've long been a fan of royalty; following the numerous European royal families in Hello! magazine, and Royalty as well.  Needless to say, I'm looking forward to "attending" the royal wedding of William and Catherine.  In the honor of tradition, I've made mom's scone recipe to eat with jam and whipped cream, and tea will be taken in my grandma's Royal Albert Blossom Time teacups.
Best wishes to the happy couple!

Sip and See

Detail shots of the sip and see afternoon tea for baby Zara.  Beautiful touches by 'V' that I was happy to photograph.  (Just have to remember the next time to take an overall picture.  I get so caught up in the details, I forget to step back and take a look at the big picture!)

An early evening ride to see if my favorite tree from last year is in bloom... and it's as beautiful as I remembered it.

Paper Bag Tulips

Had a special moment when shooting these flowers... the spring sun lighting up my favorite shooting spot and the birds singing in the trees outside.  Spring is a welcome relief; it's colors washing over the monochrome of winter.

Autumn Hydrangeas

Was looking for flowers as a centerpiece for Thanksgiving, and they were still selling hydrangeas in the store. They may be a little past their full bloom, but now they have a little more maturity to them. And isn't that what any of us could hope for!

Magnolia Blooms

Spring 2010 - Magnolia blooms

Some More Blossoms

More blossoms... I think the top photo is the shot I am leaning towards enlarging on a 16x20 canvas. Will wait till I have all the proofs lined up to make a final decision.

Cherry Blossoms

Spring 2010 - I've had it in my head for a couple of years now that I want a large photo of cherry blossoms for the wall space over my bed. I've been driving myself a bit crazy with all the cherry blossom pics... so many photos, but never quite right. Some have been too far away; some have had too much blue sky in the background. When I found this cherry tree with its branches within reach, I just shot a whole pile of pictures hoping I'd get one that would strike me. Now I can't choose. But one day soon... I will get one of these enlarged into a 16x20 canvas for the white frame over my bed...
