Rome at Night

Rome, nightfall. Last night of vacation. One digital point and shoot camera down, no chance of recovery. All rolls of film have been used, save for one last lonely roll of black and white film. Tripod; borrowed. Three subway stations, several dark alleys and plenty of map-consulting. Needless to say, I'm amazed any of the shots turned out!

The upside to getting sick while on vacation.. you have to change your flight home... and the next available seat is on a flight in five days time. These photos were taken on my last day in Sydney... a five minute walk from my brother's house in Rose Bay. I think they are my favorite photos from the year. And what a lucky duck he is to live in such a beautiful place...

November 2010 - Watson's Bay - Sydney

Sometimes the stars line up! I had postponed my return flight to Vancouver due to illness. I ended up with a magical five extra days in Sydney. (Magical, as Vancouver was in minus temperatures and snowing, and I got to go to the beach instead!) I had a call from Sue to update their family pictures... and it so worked out that our schedules coordinated to take these photos at Watson's Bay in the late afternoon. Thanks again Sue, and may we get to update your family pics every November at Watson's Bay ;)

I've wanted to post my collection of Opera House photos for a while now... and what better timing than on the eve of yet another trip back to Sydney. I cannot wait to visit the Opera House, and enjoy a latte at the Opera Bar!!!!
