Bedroom Styling Assignment:

Objective: Learn how to take a client brief, considerations in bedroom design
Client brief: Lighten the mood of the room; and make it fresh and inviting.
Furniture to remain: Dark timber headboard, bedframe and set of drawers as well as a pair of white, round wire night stands and tv.
To be removed:  Exisiting ceiling fan was to be replaced if possible, and ceiling lights added.  Vertical venetians which only covered the windows to be removed and replaced with wall to wall, floor to ceiling S-wave curtains.
Colours: Blue, green, white
Pattern: Nothing overly feminine

The starting point was a throw cushion in the client's favorite shade of blue, and the room developed from there.  (The cushion colour was a match to Dulux Wave Jumper, which is a lovely blue/green colour... but very hard to get it to show correctly on the computer screen.)

Whoops. Have overlooked these pictures I took in Lyne Park, Rose Bay back in May... just down the end of the street from my place. I have quite a few things to blog, but it's that same old refrain of too much to do, too little time. I was dreaming today of having my own webmaster! So many ideas brewing in my head... would be nice to have someone to execute it for me. For now, I'll putter along, uploading ever so slowly!

7 Vignettes May

I thought I had better blog my 7Vignettes pictures for May before June rolls around!  I entered the Interiors Addict 7Vignettes Instagram contest again for May.  You may remember I entered the one for April as well.  It's a great creative challenge; and the ones which I had no idea what I was going to do, ended up being my favorites... such as the 'Labels' one!  It takes a long time to set up and shoot each photo... still undecided if I am going to do the June contest.. time will tell!

Autumn in Cronulla

Only 30km south of Sydney, Cronulla is a lovely spot to head for a long walk on the beach if you need a break from city life.  This autumn has been fabulous... not as windy and humid as it was a couple of months ago. The water temp has heated up over summer and is like bath water.  A dip in the ocean is pure bliss!

7 Vignettes

The first time I came across The Interiors Addict site, I was searching for the opening date for West Elm at Bondi Junction.  (2 May... not much longer to wait now!)  Then I attended an informative blogging course at the Sydney Writer's Centre where she was the instructor.

If you follow me on Instagram, you have have noticed the #7vignettes hashtag accompanying some of my pictures.  7Vignettes, is a fun, styling competition organized by The Interiors Addict and each month has a different guest judge.  I decided to give it a try this month and thouroughly enjoyed the creative process.  At school, we have got very technical all of the sudden... intense research into fabrics, window treatments and floor coverings.  All necessary things, but not entirely creative.  So it was fun to put my learning to the test and create a vignette each day based on the associated word for each day.  Following are my photos for each day with a background store on each.
