November 2010 - Watson's Bay - Sydney

Sometimes the stars line up! I had postponed my return flight to Vancouver due to illness. I ended up with a magical five extra days in Sydney. (Magical, as Vancouver was in minus temperatures and snowing, and I got to go to the beach instead!) I had a call from Sue to update their family pictures... and it so worked out that our schedules coordinated to take these photos at Watson's Bay in the late afternoon. Thanks again Sue, and may we get to update your family pics every November at Watson's Bay ;)

While in Sydney this November, I had a call from Sue (who had recently moved there) to take some family photos at the beach. While taking their photos, I remembered back to previous photo shoots... the first in 2002 when Stella had just turned 1. Here's a look back at those photo shoots...

Opera Sunshine

There's that building again! The ferry captain was very cooperative... he paused here for about five minutes to allow me to take some photos. (This was shot on my digital point and shoot... there may possibily be others in my film camera...)

Was looking for flowers as a centerpiece for Thanksgiving, and they were still selling hydrangeas in the store. They may be a little past their full bloom, but now they have a little more maturity to them. And isn't that what any of us could hope for!

Eggs Benny

Who needs to go out for brunch when you can master Eggs Benedict at home?! Italian bread topped with prosciutto, poached egg and easy hollandaise. (For Martha Stewart recipe, click here.) Besides, restaurants won't let you sprawl all over the floor with the Saturday paper and magazines!

Beautiful, underrated brussell sprouts. Parboil, or slice in half and steam; then pan fry in brown butter and garlic. MMmmmmm...

I've wanted to post my collection of Opera House photos for a while now... and what better timing than on the eve of yet another trip back to Sydney. I cannot wait to visit the Opera House, and enjoy a latte at the Opera Bar!!!!
