Kitten

Dale's Kitten - Backyard, Summer 2003
It's really too bad that kitten's grow up to be cats ;) I was lucky to get this shot... this little kitten was all over the show. I think this is the only shot I got on black and white... was very fluky.

Bridges

Bridges Restaurant - Granville Island, August 2005
The same sign as yesterday's post, zoomed out a little... (This scan is a little dark. I did manipulate it in PhotoShop, but hard to lighten up that left corner w/o sacrificing the rest of the shot. The original image is much clearer.)

Bistro

Bridges Restaurant Sign - Granville Island, August 2005
Yes! I have fresh stuff here! Here is a close up of the restaurant sign at Bridges restaurant. In the real shot, the 'ST' are in focus and jump off the picture, and the background isn't so dark on the right.

Alexander

Alexander - Surrey, August 1989
Wow... I am really scrapping the bottom of the barrel here! Actually, this is one of my first attempts at children's photography!! I was babysitting the little boy, and taking care of the neighbor's rabbit. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to take the picture of them sitting inside my dad's wheelbarrow!

Fur Hoodie

Fur Hoodie - Studio Lighting, November 2003
One of my first attempts with studio lighting and a model. It's a lot harder than it looks in the magazines!

Tulip Fields

Tulip Fields - Laconner, WA - circa April 1994
Laconner plants fields and fields of tulips every year, and busloads of tourists go down. Loren and I decided that it would be a great photo op - and being budding ;) photographers, we headed down too. I took this shot, and forgot about it. Till a couple years later, I saw a photo contest at London Drugs and entered a few shots. This was the winner, and I won a Pentax SLR. The one that I used till last year when I traded it in for my sweet little Nikon. (I just like to say "Nikon".)

Bag of Lights

Chinese Night Markets - Sydney, NSW - April 2004
Bag of lights at the markets... I didn't have a tripod, so held my breath and took the picture as I breathed out. A little tip I learnt somewhere along the line. Apparently war photographers do that when they are out in the field. From what I've been told, they can't carry excess equipment, so they learn steady breathing techniques to keep their body still to take shots on slow shutter speeds. (If you think I am full of it... be sure to let me know!)
